Just couldn’t decide
On what kind of dog to get
She had a book that showed all
Canines large and small
But which breed would make the best pet?
There were Dashunds and Spaniels
Some looked like Miss Daniels
Her English teacher at school
There were Huskys and Hounds
The selection abounds
“I wouldn’t want one that would drool!”
She saw a Setter and Terrier
A Great Dane that could carry her
There must have been two hundred kinds
There were oodles of Poodles
A Komondor she’d name “Noodles”
The choice could drive kids from their minds
“I thought it would be tough
But it’s been “Ruff Ruff”
I want a dog that’s just right
I’m on page eighty one
I’m not even half done
This selection could take me all night!”
“Well it took me ’till two
But I finally got through
The selection was really a toughy
And I must admit
I almost did quit
But now I’ve a new cat named “Fluffy!”
