What does the butterfly really want to be
Caterpillar, winged insect, pupa or all three?
Or does it really care?
I’m not sure it’s aware…that it’s even there
It knows not really what it is
In each of it’s metamorphosis
Whether crawl or hang or fly
It can’t confirm it or deny
But for all the phases that it’s been
I bet it’s not pleasant… to end up on a pin!
