MY GIANT FRIEND by Russ McKay

I have a close friend who’s a giant

And as buddies we’re very compliant

He’s eleven foot two

And he has a great view

Always peaceful… he’s never defiant

Since we can’t play like normal friends do

Our size differences we adjust to

He’s huge and I’m small

But we sure have a ball

A true friendship enjoyed by few

And when we throw baseballs around

Out on the school’s big playground

We can’t throw back and forth

It’s more South and North

I have to throw up and him down

Some games we don’t play at all

Like hide and seek and seesaw

He’s too easy to find

And I’m much too inclined

‘Cause he’s not only big he’s real tall

People watch us wherever we go

His head’s way up high and mine low

I have to shout up as we walk

Or we just couldn’t talk

And my walking is fast and his slow

But the problem with being so tall

Giants never stop growing at all

Soon…he won’t find me in crowds

With his head in the clouds

Then talking’s a long distance call
