MR. GRIEVE by Russ McKay
There is a horrible man named Grieve
The ugliest you could conceive
He has a wart on his nose
And he’s got four missing toes
A foul smell stays behind when he leaves!
It seems like he’s always been old
At least that’s what I have been told
He hobbles around
Looking straight at the ground
And his hands are all covered with mold
But seeing him is very rare
Oh, I forgot to mention his hair
I must confess
It’s a straggily mess
But he just doesn’t seem to care
Now that I think back I remember
I didn’t see him last September
Or March, May or June
‘Though it was a full moon
And I think I was out on my stair
Yes, I can remember the night
That I last saw him, what a fright!
The last time he was seen
Was this past Halloween
So I guess that he’s really all right!
