A season of practice and rehearsals too
Learning routines and what to do
Studying five positions of ballet dancing
Lots of ballet slippers prancing
All easy… BUT the arabesque standing…
On one foot

Partial piroettes and not quite a “grand” jete
“OK girls…enough for today”
A four year old in a tu tu too
Ballet dancing is all so new
And after thirty weeks of dancing lessons
Nearly all were total fun filled sessions
It was time to show the parents…
All they’d learned

Costumes…makeup…new ballerinas
Show everyone their ballet genius
The audience loves every move they make
Moms and Dads see no mistake
And then the finale ends the show
Girls and parents already know
All the ballerinas of this night’ll
Always remember that recital

Fathers with arms full of roses
Waiting for daughters’ bows and poses
Mothers smile wide and hide a tear
Dancers looking forward to next year
