BACK TO SCHOOL by Russ McKay

Now it’s back to school after summer
And I think that it’s really a bummer
No more sleeping past nine
I’ll be standing in line
And trying not to get dumber
There’ll be homework that I’ll have to do
All my friends have to go back too
We’ll get up ‘fore the sun
It’s the end of our fun
If you don’t go they come and get you
You’re in school for twelve long years
Until your eighteenth birthday nears
And if you need more knowledge
You gotta go to college
So that you can learn a career
So it’s sixteen years of education
Just to try to learn a vocation
But I really don’t see
Why after earning your degree
You only get two weeks vacation
