A HAPPY TILE by Russ McKay AKA sillygrandpa.com

I’m just a tile on the floor
I don’t really want to be more
I can’t even talk
On me, people walk
Yet I don’t ever get sore

You ask what I did before
I was stacked in the back of a store
That’s where I stayed
Until I was laid
Replacing a surface thought poor

And before that, I was cut out of rock
Yes, I’m “a chip off the old block”
My Dad would be proud
I am part of a crowd
That are all considered good stock

So the next time you walk on a tile
Remember me, look down and smile
I’m in a groove
I can’t even move
But I keep looking up all the while
