THINGS I’LL NEVER SEE by Russ McKay

I was thinking ’bout things yesterday
When I was stuck inside
There was a storm with blowing rain
And I couldn’t go outside
I thought about all the things
That I cannot do
I wonder ’bout these things sometimes
I bet you wonder too…don’t you?
Well anyway I had this thought
Running through my head
Just looking up while in my room
Lying on my bed
There are things I’ll never see
Like the back of Mars
And I’ll never see the oceans dry
Or when tourists visit stars
And I know I’ll never see
My Great, great, great, great, great
Great, great, great, great, great, great, great
Grand son or daughter skate
And there are things I’ve never seen
That have gone before
Like the Dodo bird and King George the Third
And a living dinosaur
But those things are so far away
In the future or the past
There are many other things
Much closer still…that I can think of fast
I cannot see the wind outside
‘Though I hear it getting nearer
And I cannot see my backside either
Not without a mirror!
